Scotland and Education: What’s the Problem? What’s the Answer? Glasgow, 4th of November

Conrad Ritchie and his company, Score International, were featured in a BBC Scotland News report on the difficulty of finding apprentices who had sufficient numeracy and literacy skills in Scotland.

Carole Ford is one of the few real education experts in Scotland who are willing to speak out about the current situation and the reasons for it, including declining behaviour, teaching standards, the Curriculum for Excellence and SNP policy. She has written a number of articles concerning this. Carole is also the Libdem candidate for the Glasgow Kelvin Westminster seat.

Future Events

Scotland Matters has a number of local events planned for early Autumn, building on the work of our inaugural meeting in Aberdeen earlier this year.

The first of these will be held in Fraserburgh on the 23rd of September 2019, with Peter Chapman MSP to be in attendance.

The Second of these will be in the ‘Gateway to Royal Deeside, Banchorty, on the 27th of September 2019, with Mike Rumbles MSP to be in attendance.

Early plans are being made to hold meetings in the Central Belt as well, starting with Stirling.

Times and venues will be made available once details have been confirmed.
