Some patients in the Forth Valley area have been waiting more than two years for an appointment after being referred for specialist treatment.

New shocking data has been presented by NHS Forth Valley following a Freedom of Information request by the Scottish Liberal Democrats, asking for the number of patients yet to receive an appointment after a referral.

Among the numbers, seven patients are reported to have been waiting two years or more to receive their appointment – while just over 350 patients have now been waiting since July 2022.

The FOI request also revealed that one patient has been waiting an incredible 905 days – almost two and a half years – for their appointment and the longest wait in the last five years was recorded at a whopping 1,074 days.
