A young man is in hospital after his throat was allegedly ‘slit’ during an attack in East Kilbride.

Officers are now appealing for information following the serious assault which happened over the weekend on Saturday, June 1, in the Murray Road area of the town.

Emergency services raced to the scene at around 8.20pm and the 19-year-old victim was rushed to hospital.

The alarm was raised after bar staff at the Murray Bar reportedly found the young man at the back door “covered in blood” with an injury to his neck after allegedly being “slashed”.

Staff feared the teenager had “died” after he suddenly went limp when receiving aid. He remains in hospital however, his current condition is unknown, reports the East Kilbride News.

Pub supervisor Ashley Degning had just started her shift when she spotted the young man slumped over the back steps as a good Samaritan held a blood-soaked t-shirt to his neck.
