Home care for Scotland’s elderly and vulnerable is on the brink of collapse as workers buckle under pressure, a shock staff survey has found.

Care workers in Scotland’s biggest city told how they are exposed impossible workloads which are making them sick with stress.

More than half of all home carers surveyed said they had taken time off with work related stress.

And they fear cuts to time they can spend with those in need of their services could put them at risk.

Age Scotland Chief Executive, Katherine Crawford said “alarm bells should be ringing” in the Scottish Government.
