Michael Matheson has faced fresh calls to resign as Health Secretary as the NHS in Scotland continues to struggle.
Labour said the SNP veteran has proved “time and time again he is not up to the job”.
It comes as the proportion of people waiting longer than four hours in A&E has risen sharply.
According to Public Health Scotland, just 61 per cent of people who attended A&E in the week to December 31 were seen within the target time.
Activity in hospitals also continues to lag well below pre-pandemic levels, sparking fresh concerns that record-high waiting lists could continue to grow.
There were 12.9 per cent fewer operations in November last year than were planned than the same period in 2019.
